Melbourne loves a dumpling. We love them so much, in fact, that once a year we gather a whole lot of them in one place and let them fight it out for your attention.

Welcome to Welcome to Thornbury’s annual Dimmy & Dumpling Festival — a glorious afternoon of dimsims, dumplings, gyoza, momo, mandu and all manner of delicious little parcels from across Melbourne and around the world.

Expect food trucks and stalls serving up dumplings in all their glorious forms, plus plenty of drinks, music, good times and the sort of eating that makes you realise you probably should have worn elastic-waisted pants.

For one day only, Welcome to Thornbury becomes Melbourne’s unofficial headquarters for things wrapped in deliciousness.

We’re bringing together food trucks and market stalls from across Melbourne, serving up dimsims and dumplings inspired by cuisines from all over the world.

Think:

  • Steamed, fried, pan-fried and crispy

  • Traditional recipes and creative twists

  • Dimsims, dumplings, gyoza, momo, mandu and more

  • Plenty of options to sample, share and immediately order another one

  • A whole lot of chilli oil

It’s basically a world tour, but instead of airports and jet lag, you get dumplings and a beer.
