Welcome to Thornbury is – and always has been – an icon of the area, functioning as a car manufacturing factory for much of the 20th century, and now, as probably the best beer garden, bar, arcade, and event space in the north.

You can absolutely bring your spawn along to the pub, but they must be kept within an arm’s reach at all times. We also place an 9pm curfew on kids Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Being a licensed venue, it tends to get a little rowdy after this time.

We love dogs! Generally we prefer them over the company of people. They’re welcome in the outdoor area just in case some poor bugger is allergic and gets the snuffles. We also ask that they’re kept on a leash and not pooping anywhere.

You sure can. We’re the largest licenced Arcade in Australia but we do just ask that you be careful around the vintage machines and don’t eat while you’re playing. We also don’t allow fur children in the arcade.

We have a heap of different function spaces available to book including parts of the beer garden. You can check them all out on the spaces tab or just ask us and we’ll let you know what’s best based on your group size, whether you want some game time in the arcade or a private bar and space to yourselves.

We do. Our Foxtel subscription is always active and if we’re not showing what you want to see, you can always ask of friendly team at the bar to chuck on your sport of choice. Just be aware that in busy times, we may need to stream without sound.

Unless you are the legally designated guardian of your little brother or sister, unfortunately they can’t come along. You’ll have to bring mum or dad too. Damn.

Yes — limited street parking is available, plus public transport stops right outside.

We’re easy to get to by public transport:

• Tram: The 86 tram (Bundoora RMIT ↔ Waterfront City Docklands) stops right outside at Stop 27 – High St/Croxton Rd.

• Train: Croxton Station on the Mernda Line is a 5-minute walk away, and Northcote Station is about 10 minutes on foot.

• Bus: Routes 508 (Alphington ↔ Moonee Ponds) and 552 (North East Reservoir ↔ Northcote Plaza) stop nearby.

• Bike: We’ve got racks out front if you’re pedalling over.

If you’re driving, there’s limited street parking in the area, and rideshare drop-offs are easiest on High Street.
